Contribute game data
Routes, talents, recipes and prices here come from players running the free Long Road Companion addon. Upload your file and what you've seen helps fill in the map.
The easy way: the Long Road Uploader
A small Windows app that sends your addon file each time you close the game, and keeps the addon's live panel supplied with the latest fastest times and danger spots. It also sends the addon's quest pictures, cut down to the NPC in the middle of the screen, so the quest pages show what each quest giver looks like. Double-click it once, sign in here when it asks, and forget about it.
Download the uploader (Windows)
It only reads the Long Road Companion file and the addon's own quest screenshots in your WoW folder (never your other screenshots), and only talks to thelongroad.io. It starts with Windows, uses no noticeable memory while you play, and you can disconnect it from your account.
Or upload by hand
- Install Long Road Companion from CurseForge or Wago and play as usual.
- Log out (or type /reload) so the game saves the file.
- Upload LongRoadCompanion.lua from your World of Warcraft folder: WTF\Account\(your account)\SavedVariables.
Nothing goes live from one person alone. A quest location, recipe or price is published once two players report the same thing, so honest data adds up and mistakes don't.
What's kept
Game facts: where quests start and end, NPC and mob locations, fights, deaths and the paths you walk, item and spell details, talent trees, recipes, vendor and auction prices. Before anything is stored, your notes and other players' names from raid groups are removed, and your character names are replaced with a one-way code, so your own stats add up per character without the name being kept.
